I already mentioned something earlier, but now I can finally reveal what I’ve been working on for the past few months: making a website for Tiny House 4 all! Today it was launched and I can finally tell you all about this organisation. Tiny Houses are being built in Nieuwegein, both for the residents and together with them!

""

Frans Beuger is quartermaster at Lister – an organization that offers housing and guidance for people with an addiction or psychiatric vulnerability. Our government wants people to be independent as soon as is possible when they’re taken out of care, but it’s getting harder and harder to find appropriate housing. Frans noticed these worrying circums0tances and found a solution in the Tiny House movement. Together with co-worker Wim Ebbers, they drew up a project plan and presented it to the board of Lister. The plan was to build Tiny Houses for their clients, together with the clients. And to find a housing location where clients can live in the Tiny Houses built at Tiny House 4 all, together with other residents. Or as Frans and Wim put it: supporting residents. Residents who can help out care-needing residents when the situation calls for it. Isn’t that a brilliant plan?

""

I’ve known Frans and Wim for a few years now. They asked for my help and expertise in convincing the municipality that a Tiny Housing project would be useful. Our contact is always pleasant; they’re both very friendly, sociable and fun people with a passion for their work. When I wrote about my financial issues a while ago, considering a part-time job to supplement my income from Tiny House activities, Frans took action immediately. ‘I read that you have a hard time getting by, that sucks. I’m working on the website for Tiny House 4 all at the moment, maybe you can help me out?’ That was so sweet!’

Building websites is not my profession. I’m not trained to write texts. Although I’m not that bad at the latter ;) And still Frans asked me to write the text for the website of his project Tiny House 4 all. Or actually, to build the whole website. ‘All right’, I said, ‘I’m handy with WordPress, I’m willing to do that. I made the first two versions of my website myself. But remember I’m not a pro!’ That wasn’t a problem. So, now it’s gone live and I’m actually quite proud of it. Information needs to be added here and there but the basics are solid. I’m curious to hear what you think!

""

Deze foto en de foto van Frans en Wim zijn gemaakt door Fototeam K en M, de zeer gewaardeerde buren van Tiny House 4 all.

But more importantly, I want to ask you to share the website and Facebook page of Tiny House 4 all in your network. Because it’s a really sympathetic organisation and I hope you value what they do as much as I do, and I hope you will support them. After a failed attempt at finding a location in Nieuwegein, Frans and Wim are looking for a new location. It would help if as many people, municipalities and land owners as possible in the surroundings of Nieuwegein know about this project and their search for a location where the project would be welcomed with open arms. The value of Tiny House 4 all is huge: it has a social value, but also helps with energy transition and climate goals.

Sometimes you need a little bit of help in life, and you can’t do it all by yourself. It’s fantastic that there are organisations like Lister to help you back on your feet. Letting you rebuild your life slowly in your own, small but happy home that you helped to build with your own two hands. In a neighborhood where support is only a door away, whether it is someone who’ll listen to you or help you out with something practical. Isn’t that exactly how we want to take care of each other in this society? Tiny House 4 all wants to make it happen; let’s help them with it. Here’s the website and Facebook page. Follow and share as much as you can! <3
